Deeply venerated in Greece, the holy icon of Panayia Prousiotissa is closely associated with the historic Monastery of Panagia Prousiotissa (Μονή Παναγίας Προυσιώτισσας) in Evrytania, central Greece — a sacred pilgrimage site where generations of believers have sought prayer, healing, and spiritual strength.

According to sacred tradition, the icon was miraculously brought from Asia Minor during the time of Iconoclasm and revealed in the mountainous region of Evrytania. Since then, Panayia Prousiotissa has been honoured as a powerful protector and source of divine consolation, especially in times of hardship and illness.
